As I was contemplating eating some of my loot from Trader Joe's for dinner, it ocurred to me that smoked trout and jasmine tea might go very nicely together. It also ocurred to me that I might be on crack. I wasn't. Awesome combination. -

On I-90, the first toll booths on the Massachusetts side of the border are nestled on the south side of a curving line of hills. It's a lovely spot. The hills are covered with conifers, mostly pine, I think. Since the road is usually quite empty when I'm traveling, I get to admire them as I'm slowing down. Yesterday it was snowing lightly. Friends in need
It's been a busy and friend-intense few days.
I got back to Troy on Tuesday to a slew of phone messages, one of which was from a very unhappy blimix. He came over and talked for a while that evening, which helped. Balancing act
My mom had a great big wing chair. It's upholstered in an attractive floral tapestry pattern; mostly dark green with some mauve, burgundy, and cream. That chair and I are both now sitting in my brother's living room. I'm sitting on the corner of the couch nearest the chair; it, unsurprisingly, sits on the floor. Delaying travel plans
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch through tomorrow evening. They're predicting 4-7 inches of snow in the area that I'd be driving through to get back to Troy. If it's snowing, I ain't going.
