good morning:) i am taking a quick minute before getting the kids up to post. busy day today...gus has school, there's a LLL meeting this morning, and tonight i have a parent/teacher meeting a gus's school. we are filling the hours and the days with as much activity as we can fit it. hopefully, the next couple of weeks will seem shorter this ( Read more... ) -

Eaten up with anger
Ok, so I am sitting here *seething* with anger. I am more angry than I have been in a while (and that's saying quite a lot given recent happenings) with the midwife who "attended" my sister's birth. Yesterday, they finally had a follow-up visit (3.5 weeks later--sorry excuse for care, IMO), and the midwife begins to dump on Vicky all the things ( Read more... ) -

That churning noise is my mind. And my washing machine. OK, mostly the washing machine (as usual)...still, my mind is working overtime today, too. I keep thinking about how I can simplify and get out from under all this STUFF that we have. It's really NOT that we buy too much. A giant sigh of relief!
So, I heard from Vicky last night. They met with the geneticist, and it looks as if Bailey is going to be ok. There is something going on with his chromosome that is not "normal", but they think that it won't cause him any problems (other than his heart defect which they do feel is connected with what they saw--and which is correctable with ( Read more... ) -
Updating after a long absence
Well, it's been a long time since I've updated, and sadly not much has happened that has been good news. Shortly after my last post I got a call from the hospital saying that the pediatrician on call was harrassing Vicky and Craig, and that he had removed my other sister from the room with security officers. Baby is here...
So baby is finally born, and it's a BOY:) Craig Bailey Carroll (Bailey) was born yesterday morning at 11:25. He weighed 9'1oz. and was 21 in. long...he is beautiful with a head full of dark hair. He is gorgeous. I am so incredibly sad for Vicky and Craig, though because their birth did not go at all as they planned/hoped. They ended up going ( Read more... ) -
Nope, not yet
So no baby, yet. Vicky had contractions--very spaced out and toned down--all day. At about 3:00 this afternoon, I left her with instructions to take a nap and rest (in general) as much as she could. Talked to her a few minutes ago...still contracting, baby still fine. She was going to take a shower and try to sleep--prodromal labor sucks ( Read more... ) -
Looks like it's time
Well, Vicky called me at around 2:00 this morning to tell me she was having contractions every 5-6 minutes and some show. She said she would call me back if she needed me, and when I spoke with her this morning she said the contractions spaced out but they're stonger and more show this morning. Still no baby. Waiting, waiting...Vicky is so frustrated, and just about sick of being pregnant. Lots of words of encouragement are being given to her, but I think she is just over it. Ah well, nothing to do but wait ( Read more... )
