I couldn't respond to your post in princessmoonray's journal because I think she has it set so anybody posting who's not on her friends list gets screened (I got your message via e-mail notification), so I'm saying it here!

If there's a reverse sterilization, someone will obtain it and use it before the objective has been fulfilled, I can almost guarantee. If it's a procedure, someone will discover it (whether it's a dissenting Pentagon worker getting government documents about the sterilization or a doctor trying different solutions) and teach the populace how to do it; if it's an antidote, someone will get the recipe and teach the populace how to make it. Any "exit strategy" for mass sterilization would be used before it's intended to be.

And regardless of population, if all the females of a species are sterile, the species will be extinct at the end of the youngest generation's lifespan (if outside forces don't wipe it out before the previous generations die).

You're right, I considered that as well pretty much right after pressed 'post comment'. There probably isn't a way around the whole "sterilize the general population of women from baby making" thing. No matter what, it would be thwarted therefore the procedure is severely flawed.
