You don't even need a whole hand to count the days left. Simultaneously I'm feeling excited and forcing myself to forget about it (so the time passes faster). It's a weird place to be.

My dad was discharged from the hospital on Saturday. They mostly kept him there because they were trying different medication to get his heart rate consistently low. Now he's got at least four bottles of pills, various amounts of which he must ingest daily. But the doctors think a viral thing could have caused all this, and that it may subside ( Read more... )

My mom and brother and I all got sick a little over two weeks ago with what was probably some sort of flu. Then my dad got sick a little while after the three of us had gotten better. Back in November, I saw a kid of high school age drop money while getting on the bus. He appeared aware of having dropped it, but left it behind, no doubt out of concern for prompt boarding.
