I don't think the article is saying that girl crime is any different, but that it's just a new thing that is happening. I think they are wondering what changed in order to make girls more aggressive these days. But my main point of posting the article was to show the part that I quoted. I think it's sad that a 9-year-old would kill another person.

The part that Lily quoted placed more emphasis on age than gender, which was why she found it depressing. but then I went to the site and read the title of the whole article and understood your idea.
I think the reason why they are pointing out the rise in female violence is because it is so much less frequent than male-violence. Isn't it about 90 percent of violent crimes are enacted by men, the other 10 percent, obviously, female (and most of the time women do so out of self-defense?). I thought I read that somewhere.
I am not trying to sound femi-nazi either. I just heard a statistic.
