Dance Fever
It's amazing how many reality TV shows are devoted to dance. We no sooner wind up "Dancing With the Stars" than it's time for "So You Think You Can Dance." Overlapping the two was "Step it Up and Dance." MTV has joined the fray with "America's Best Dance Crew," and "The Search for Elle" (finding a new star for "Legally Blonde: the Musical." Thou Shalt???
It occurs to me that Judaism -- and by extension, Islam and Christianity -- have misinterpreted their basic tenet: that there exists only one god. I'm looking at the First Commandment: "I am the Lord thy God and thou shalt have no other God before Me." It's those last two words. I Feel Soooooo Sick!!!
I just met my new Primary Care Physician. OMG! What a hottie! I can feel all kinds of symptoms coming on. I'm going to need a lot of medical attention. -

This is a crummy time of year for those of us devoted to incessant entertainment. Most theaters are dark after the middle of the month. Prior to that, they are devoted to heartwarming family comedies or productions of "Christmas Carol." Television programming consists of cheesy animation "specials." Now that word is seeping out that I have some clout at the Rubicon (no one truly knows what, but they see me around there a lot), I've started to receive feelers for shows we should produce. Yesterday at the cast closing party, I got FOUR pitches!! My favorite: "This one has two or three roles that would be perfect for YOU!"

Family Legends
A recent NPR feature got me thinking about some of my family history.
The NPR story was a debate on felony disenfranchisement: in most states, convicted felons are denied voting privileges for life. I always hated this law. It's just plain mean-spirited and exists to satisfy some vindictive craving. Certainly it's not a deterent. Imagine:

Never a Dull Moment!
Yesterday Jonathan decided to climb up on a dresser and knocked everything down (including the TV and VCR on top of the dresser.) Erika and I had to deal with calming Jonny down (thankfully, no injuries), while scolding him to make sure he knew he did wrong. This isn't easy in Jonny's case.
