First Tide Turning ☠ [action + marauding + voice]

Jul 23, 2011 15:17

Seems there's types about who'd make the village safe. Police; a village watch. They'll want prisons, next. A gallows.

Rather funny, that, considering the nature of the place, eh?

There's rogues about. Mind that; and if you can't, lock your doors.

Cut for action )

climbing in your windows, saqueador, a bit of piracy at last, snatching your people up

Sanguette. Lock your head in a hole, pull a blade down, chop your head off. What they do to annemer they catch thieving.

.....Right. One of them. We most certainly do NOT want one of them to punish thieves. Agreed.

[Giles overhears Jack's message over the journals. He doesn't say anything in reply - he's not sure what he would say in reply, not after his conversation with Raven - but when he goes out walking and sees the pirate pacing the bridge?

...sigh.]

Making an example of yourself, are you?

[Oh God of ALL THE PEOPLE who could interrupt an indecisive marauding...]

Rupert. Fancy seeing you on the marauding bridge at a marauding hour.

[Amelia doesn't know about the promises Jack has made, and she really doesn't care about any insults to his pirating spirit, or however he wants to label it. But Amelia knows she owes Jack on some level, for helping protect Jilly from Grell, and Amelia herself the last time the Malnosso decided to make her a babbling idiot. And deep down, she doesn't want Jack to get into trouble--not that she'll admit that ever.

It's not hard to guess where he'll be, just based on her experience as a bounty hunter. Amelia heads to the bridge where they first met, when Jack tried to rob her of her umbrella. She's a bit surprised to see him pacing back and forth, but maybe that's a good sign. Maybe he knows just how bad this could all get if it doesn't stop.]

Is there any point in telling you not to do anything stupid?

Amelia, darling.

[This would be a very good act Jack is putting on. He is not concerned! No! He is not worried about trouble and doing stupid things and making a mess out of his friendships and possibly starting a feud with a man whom Grell is protecting! Not at all worried! No sir!]

Have I ever told you you look beautiful while you're warning a man?

I think... there should be justice. Even somewhere like here.

[A sigh.] Of course you do, Ami-love. Even if you seem to prize forgiveness higher.

I wasn't saying it to argue with you, I just... don't think it's bad, if people want to protect each other here.

Sometimes people can't protect each other. I couldn't protect you. And no damned police would have been able to, either.

[Kurt doesn't know how well this whole police force talk is going to go, but he saw that challenge to Jack and having a particular beef with the pirate himself, Kurt got some satisfaction at the thought Jack could lose something as important to him as Kurt had. So when he sees Jack over by the bridge, he 'ports over to crouch on the rails and, well, antagonize him a bit.]

Shouldn't you be protecting your boat, man?

Protecting it from whom, blueboy?

[Oh bollocks. And he's teleporting, too. Jack has no problem with Kurt, though he isn't sorry he took the watch. He's only sorry that it didn't WORK so well and that he got into trouble over it.]

The angry smoking guy. He's going to take it, yeah?

[He hops off the railing to stand in front of Jack. Yeah, he's not worried. He doesn't even HAVE his watch now.]

I beg to differ: angry smoking guy is NOT going to get his hands on it, son. Not whilst I draw breath.
