Eleanor and I - ribbons in hand - took her scooter over to her school. This time we got there earlier and there was a little more action. Ellie's gym teacher said it's been going okay but having some parents marching and beefing up the ranks would be helpful. Today, a massive swell of teachers, students, parents, friends, friends of friends and whoever the hell else descended Madison, WI style upon the Board of Education and rolled through the Loop. I just received a call from my daughter's school. They wanted to make sure we got her school bus assignment in the mail so that she would be ready for Tuesday.

No, my laptop still is not fixed. Unfortunately the $60 I started squirrelling away now has to go to the City of Chicago for being TWO MINUTES late on my parking meter. Of course I am going to contest it -- not necessarily because I wasn't wrong but because if the city wants that $60 they'll have to PULL IT OUT OF MY ASS first-- but I usually end ( Read more... )
