• Nearly graduated my masters program.
• Begun and ended my student teaching. Wow what a ridiculous, educational, terrifying, wonderful experience.
• Decided, along with K, to move to Chicago for her to go to law school.
• Gotten married

So the beloved is taking the LSAT today, and wanted me to drive her to and from the test site. When my boss forgot not to put me on the schedule for this morning, I arranged to switch shifts with someone from work, got the directions, and work up early this morning to drive her and found a nearby Starbucks at which to read and hang out while I ( Read more... )

Things I have done today:

• Fixed the brake alignment on my bike's front wheel
• Made home-made healthy granola bars
• Vacuumed
• Purchased a new tube for my bike's flat rear tire
• Learned how to change said tube

Poor Caprica-cat. He is morbidly obese by cat standards (roughly 20 pounds) and nothing seems to be working to slim him down. Measuring out diet food has not helped, nor has his active and playful little sister Gemma, nor has a routine of his favorite toys. Now that finals are over, my life can return to some semblance of normal that doesn't involve camping in the library for days, living solely off of vending machine food and convenience store coffee, and burying myself in books and papers covered in carefully annotated sticky notes.

In super-exciting and fun news: Katherine and I are getting married next April. After six and a half years together(and the recent advent of legal gay marriage in DC), it's about damn time. So my second semester of classes has started, and I am trying very hard to be an organized, efficient, and productive student. I've made up elaborate schedules, I have intense to-do lists for every week, I've set up a dedicated study area and study times, I've organized my school materials. I am perhaps a bit drunk at the moment, after my impromptu French night. Grad school is kicking my butt. Not in a bad way, necessarily, but I am definitely feeling the pressure.
