I enjoyed this very much, especially the contrast between the figher and the killer.

I'm glad you liked it! :) I think Sora sees Ford as being someone like herself, whereas Sheppard is more like Kolya-- unpredictable and scary... Thanks for the comment!

Really liked this. The contrast between what Sora really is, and the part she has to play, and her realization that the Atlanteans aren't playing parts. It makes me think of the SG-1 episode where Jack shows the Jaffa the difference between a weapon of terror and a weapon of war.

Oh, interesting-- what episode is that? I am still catching up on a lot of SG-1 episodes I missed the first time around.

Thanks for the comment! :)

Damn, I can't remember the title. It was in the early seasons, and it was one of the first where the Jaffa were actually starting to rebel against the Goa'uld. They contact a planet with a large group of free Jaffa and try to supply them with weapons, training, etc, but the leader wants to stick with the traditional ways, which aren't working so great. Of course, they find out he has an ulterior motive. I liked it for pointing out that the Jaffa knew a lot about keeping helpless populations in line, but not so much about fighting an equal or superior force that used different weapons and tactics, which explained why Earth kept winning all the time.

ooooh. so good! wish i could say more but i'm running to work; just brilliant, though! it's so nice to see how the original team breaks down in the eyes of someone who doesn't know them, really, but would be trained enough to observe them well. you win at the internets.

*G* I'm glad you liked it! And, yeah, Sora turns out to be more of an interesting antagonist than I thought... :)

Your Sora is wonderful and I loved the views you gave of the team. Teyla just felt right, Ford made me smile, McKay made me jump and Sheppard made me shiver.

That is *awesome.*

>She's been drinking Genii moonshine since she was fourteen-- not the carefully distilled liquor that they drink underground, but the raw white lightning they serve their trading partners.<

This is great.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I think the double life the Genii lead is one of the most curious things about them, but I'm pretty sure the show just sees it as a means to an end ("here's our excuse to give them technology!") and they set it up well enough to establish that, so we probably won't ever hear about it again. Which is a pity, because I think it's so interesting!
