I've been such a terrible journal buddy. I've been trying to read along, but with SIL in town, I'm finding it difficult to even do that. She's heading out of town for a side trip for a day, so hopefully I'll be able to catch up a little bit ( Read more... )

Awesome news about the breast milk. Sorry you've had suck a rough go of it with all the issues.

Can't wait to see her 1 month photos!

Thanks...they say the first 6 weeks are the hardest, right? Hopefully I'm getting all my hurdles out of the way now.

I know, I can't believe it either. I'm kinda sad how quickly she's growing up.

I seriously belted out a Yee Haw when I read his email. It would have broke my heart to dump it...I would have made Keith do it.

Good to hear from you. You are being a much better journal buddy than some of us who don't have a 1 month old to take care of. Just drop in and keep us updated when you can.

Glad to hear the stash is safe. 700 oz...holy crap! I'm sure having that stash for Megan is so reassuring for when you go back to work.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a Mother's Milk Bank around you that takes milk for needy babies? I've known a few people who had overabundant supplies that donated and found it very rewarding.

It certainly is! Especially since I had such supply issues with Caroline and had to supplement from 7 weeks on. It's nice to know it's there.

I have thought of donating it if I don't end up needing it for Megan. There isn't a bank near us, though there is one in Raleigh, NC that accepts out of state donations. I've also looked in to the International Breast Milk Project. There's a good chance I'd be denied as a donor though since I'm usually on allergy/asthma meds. Also, I'm not sure if they'd accept this milk because of the thrush. While Dr. Newman is pretty certain it's safe, he said there is still a chance of recontamination- it just unlikely it will happen.

Yeah, I agree they might not accept it because of the thrush (didn't even think about the other meds)...it was really more out of curiousity. We have one just done the street from us.

Thanks, Sasha...I'll pass along your salutations to baby girl.

I know, I feel like a bovine. Lefty seems to be stabilizing out over the past couple of days though (not sure if it's my supply regulating or this plugged duct) so I don't think I'll be seeing such rapid growth of my stash.
