UTC? GMT? Ok, I know GMT is Greenwich Mean Time.. but what the hell does UTC mean? Will we all have to learn Russian soon to be able to read the news? If the servers are in the U.S. wouldn't it make more sense to express the local time of the servers as the time of maintenance? I realize I'm a dumb American who has never been outside the borders of his homeland but sheesh!

Universal Time Code. It's been my experience that geeks are more apt to talk about UTC than other people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time
