and now, ladies / gents, the moment you've waited for for almost two weeks!

Feb 01, 2009 09:58

I normally choose to write my haiku like this, but it's award time... / ...gotta be formal. From here on, I'll use line breaks. Now... for the awards!

I've not yet announced
the sum totals from Week Six--
our semifinals.

So we'll now proceed
to announce the group results
that just led us here.

In Week Six, here were our authors:
theafaye: Haiku 7, 9 ( Read more... )

Wow, well played on all accounts! Especially by the semi-finalists - the way I saw folks pimping, I totally didn't even know who the final rounds were about.

Congratulations! You guys all rocked hard.

(Sorry this comment
Isn't in haiku-form, but
need more coffee first.)

i too was extremely impressed with the professionalism and "opaqueness" of all my semifinalists. thanks so much for helping us keep this semi-anonymous boat afloat, y'all. i think it makes the voting both a little more interesting and a little more fair than in, y'know, those other vote-based contests.

As a contestant, I can say that it added an extra level of excitement. I knew I wasn't going to make the finals because my three haiku weren't doing as well in the polls, but my brain isn't mathsy enough to work out all the permutations to see whether there was a possibility of squeaking through. Kept me on the edge of my seat anyway!

Once again, thanks for setting this up and running it - it might be a small contest now, but even so, there's a lot of thought and work goes into it and I appreciate it.

Thank you for the plaque,
it will go in my profile -
it was tons of fun!

Congrats go to whirled,
my most worthy opponent.
I knew it was you!

(You made a mis-post
in the round of 10 haiku,
I saw your I.D.)

I hope season two
is as much fun as this was.
Thanks for a great one!

it is quite difficult to provide tech support in haiku, so i won't lossfound February 2 2009, 12:05:18 UTC
step one: save said bling to a host of some kind (i understand LJ hosts a limited number of images; you could also use a flickr type thing or perhaps an anon file repository like stashbox.org).

step two: copy down the direct URL for the file wherever you're hosting it

step three: edit LJ profile; copy this text over; then, paste direct url (including the http:// part) in place of THISISURL and replace [ with < and ] with >:

that should do 'er.
