Went out with Sophie last night. She is one of the few that will be around for the whole of the summer. Went out and got dessert, then to a bookstore where we stayed until 11:30 looking at travel books. seriously. I'm really pissed off about that Daily Show thing. God, I hate it when people tell me what to do, particularly what I can't do. Particularly when it's about the Daily Show.

I just checked my "recently updated" friends on Facebook, and both Danny and Gen have changed their relationship status to single. Both updates are from today. Is that just a spontaneous coincidence or did they break up today? Is this what people do now? After a serious life change, the first thing to do is run and post it on facebook.

Busy day at work. I don't know if I can ever appreciate an 8-4 schedule. I hope to come upon a windfall fortune and only work part-time jobs. I really like that even when I'm doing mindless gofer tasks it feels like I'm doing something worthwhile. hmm, some harsh grading in a couple of my classes... not that I did poorly, but I feel pretty in tune with my accademic "temperature" this semester, and I think 2 professors could have easily swung up a half grade in the other direction. oh well. I'll just work all the harder next year.

I'm home. It's warm and sunny. I've unpacked (i.e. I've taken everything out of my suitcases and dumped it on my floor). Went out to a nice lunch with mom this afternoon. Renewed my driver's license. I know I'm in California when driving to the DMV is a joyous experience.
