Day 30 - One Last Moment
I'd like to take the time to thank those of you who actually made it through this last month of blabbering and hope you didn't find it too much of a waste of time. To finish all this off, I need to share with you the one thing that I believe everyone should watch if they haven't already, and although it's an hour and a half long, it's the best damn hour and a half I've ever seen filmed, and I think the damn thing moved me more than most actual films do. Not to mention, it's the one lecture I can get through without falling asleep or even feeling close to falling asleep.
Without further ado, Randy Pausch's "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams":
Randy Pausch gave that lecture in September 2007, with the knowledge that he only had a couple of months to live; he died at the end of July 2008, probably with Death huffing and wheezing that the guy was a lot more difficult to catch than he expected.
I suppose this video can actually answer a lot of different questions along the way: this guy lived a life I could only dream of, and it's a damned shame he needed to be somewhere else; we could use more people like him, and I can only hope to follow his example one day.
