okay, okay, okay, yeah. MIA for far too long. quick update for everyone via a picture essay behind the cut...and my new year's letter will be going up soon.

sunday night, i drove down to Ft. Bragg. monday morning, i went on base, walked in to the hotel lobby, saw his big goofy neck and head from behind sitting on a couch, ran up to him and hugged him tighter than i ever have. i kissed his face, neck, whatever was there. i burst in to tears ( Read more... )

So. Last night, my mind is racing. Chewing on politics (the hazards of living in DC, i suppose). I pull out my old, trusty, hand-me-down copy of Machiavelli. Really--it belonged to my mother when she was getting her Poli Sci Ph.D. back in the late 70's. Maybe all of this is genetic.
