I bought one of my favorites today on the corner of 18th and castro on my way back from work. There were some really ugly girl scouts, I'm assuming they were girl scouts, who were selling cookies. I bought my favs. I put them in the freezer; they are better cold and crisp.

work, purchase, food

So there are two things that surprised me about your response. The first was that you were in the boyscouts (since you aren't a boy -- anymore). The second one was that you have been stalking me in order to see that I bought two boxes of the thin mints.

That different time, for the different story... was that a different you too?

Aren't you supposed to be workin there mint-boy?! Seriously though, what other kind of cookies would you be putting in the freezer besides the fab thin mint? I wanted to be a sea scout. Apparently you had to be a boy scout to be a sea scout so I could sail, therefore, I had to be a girl scout, then a boy scout, then a sea scout. And let me just say to be one the few girls amongst the all bot sea scouts when your a 15 year old is a fabulous thing. ;)

This isn't just one of those "things were better back when I was a kid posts", but...

Girl Scout Cookies used to be better. They changed cookie-making vendors sometime in the early 90's, and they did away with my favorite flavor, "The Scot Tea". I think they have a short-bread equivalent nowadays, but it's just not the same. It's more like a cracker than a shortbread cookie.

Those BASTARDS!

I can say that the thin mints have become less minty over the years. I don't know if that is because everything else is more minty, or if they are really less. I'm thinking that they are less because I *don't feel* any mintier.

You helped me smile. Thank you strongheart25 March 9 2006, 11:06:14 UTC
I was thinking about you the other day and was having some very fond memories wash over me. Our trips to Mammoth or Amsterdam. We had a lot of fun together.

On a completely different note: Thank you for hearing me out when I asked to borrow money from you. Thank you for thinking about it even though you felt in your gut that it was wrong. I completely understand where you were coming from. I don't even know how much money I already owe you. It is hard to fathom that I asked to borrow from you yet again. I just wanted you to know that things worked out. Not great but they worked out. I had to stop payment on a few checks and call a few people but it worked out. Thank you for wishing me the best of luck becuase you understood how difficult my position was. I hope this doesn't hurt our friendship anymore and I promise that I won't ask again.

Love,
Hope
