oh this was sweet (even if Steve was almost acting like a stalker) and they talked and they're on the same page and they're going to get through this.
good work.

Now that I've blinked away the tears I can see well enough to tell you this was lovely and warm and sweet and just what I needed to fix that gaping hole left by the episode. I wish TPTB would film this and put it up on the screen. Fantastic work as always.

This was lovely!

"I don't think Dad sending us away was part of my Mom's plan. She thought we'd be taken care of. But what she did... It broke him and he was petrified with fear and that's the McGarrett family legacy. Fear and abandonment and suspicion and mistrust and building walls around ourselves so we an just get on with doing what we came to do."

This is Steve's life in a nutshell and I think you're right that Doris didn't think that John would go off and push his kids away right when they needed him the most. And I wonder, did Joe White always know about Doris and did he tell her about John's sending Steve and Mary to the mainland?

I love how Danny understood what Steve was saying to him and I give Steve points for trying to explain it--Truly excellent work on this:)

Joe knows so much. How else would he know who/where Shelburne was? He probably helped her in some manner.

My thought is that Joe was still active military and possibly worked with the CIA before and more likely to have the tools to help her disappear than John ( ... )

I loved this little extra bit that was needed. Although I knew where Steve was coming from when he said it, it did seem a bit strange. And I can definitely see how this would bother him later...

Stalker!Steve is the best! Poor Steve, he had trust issues before but now... I'm just glad he has Danny and some other friends in his life he feels he can trust.
