I'm SO glad you found out what the culprit was and that's it's fleas and not something really hard to get rid of like scabies or something!! My ex brought that home from work (he worked at a home for boys, they weren't the cleanest boys either) I got it, he had it, and my daughter got it and she was only about 4 at the time. It sucked!

I went through this last year and had to steam clean my carpets, have my house sprayed, and deflea my pets every 2-3 weeks for awhile. Once they get into your carpet and beds = not good.
Fleas hatch every 3 weeks so keeping the house cool so they won't hatch (ABORT THE FLEA BABIES) also helps. In June. heh. Good luck with that.

rowdy got fleas when we moved into these apts we're in, with her you could see them right away (it was gross on her white fur), they were in the grass. my guess is that they came from the geese here? after the advantix, they were gone. i didn't have to bomb or anything. do you think the people before you had pets?
there's stuff you can buy at the vet to put on your carpet that is supposed keep them away, it's like $50 though, the vet was trying to get me to buy it...
blah blah anyways!
i am playing hooky from work today, took my exam and then came home to clean up from the party, laundry etc. ttyl!
