Thank you. Jersey Norman-french, as Jèrriais is also known, is derived from the French Duke William would have known, with Norse and Viking influence along the way. There are some tenses that simply do not exist in French, which keeps the learner on their toes. :)

"Quoi de neuf" is exactly as in French, so I knew that one. But some of the others you've given above are so different, I hadn't a clue. *screws up eyes like Goyle*

:) Yes, JNF can be very different at times. Sometimes, I can translate what I want to say into French and then into Jèrriais and sometimes I discover later that I ought to have used a different tense. Schoolgirl French is both a help and hindrance. :)
