I use to pick up hitchhikers too. Then I had to kick one in the face and that was the end of that. I'd say the part I enjoy the most about your sharing is where you said "I gave Jesus a ride home today." There are a million different things I could say, all of which would be my opinion or someone else's, so I'm not going to say them. Instead I will simply ask what do YOU mean by "I gave Jesus a ride home today."? That woulds strangely alot like "How do you feel about that?" lol. P.S. If you're gonna keep doing that I'd start carrying a knife in your car, next to your seat or something. Just in case.
The "gave Jesus a ride home today" referred directly to the verse I'd quoted immediately before. His teaching was, in essence, what you do (or don't do) for His brothers and sisters, you do (or don't do) for Him. It removed the barrier between our love for Him and our love for others. Or at least, that was the idea. The lesson. The intention.
Some instances have been placed in one's life for that one person alone. But don't let yourself get burdened over whether you should share that instance with others, for you either will or you won't -- or maybe later. You'll either want to share it badly enough or not. And once either decision has been made, there's no use in wishing it back because of someone else's opinion of you (boasting). You'll either influence someone or you won't, but that is out of your hands, right? If your purpose was to influence someone by sharing your story, wouldn't you go for it without a second thought? Just sounds like the little burdens can be let go :-)
