I informed her of the cafe downstairs and the machines in which you may purchase bottled drinks. She gave me a contemptuous look of disappointment. Some of the books I'm using for research use "Mohammedans" interchangeably with "Muslim." I've only seen this in novels and I had no idea the term was actually employed in academia. I'm very tempted to examine this in my term paper, but that would make a fairly wide rabbit trail from discussing Maimonides. As usual, I'm making this task much too ( Read more... )

Nostalgia kills my homework drive. Ever since attending a departmental social this afternoon I've had Jerusalem on my mind. Friends have been uploading pictures all summer, and a friend from Finland will be there next week. Even more than Jerusalem, though, are Nazareth and Tiberias.
