Well, so far I've met some interesting people.

At first I thought metatron_tm was bad, but it turns out he's not the same Metatron who was working for the Authority. I guess that's good, though he didn't seem like any other angel I'd seen before.

kissin_kate seems nice enough, and I can sorta understand how she feels- it's horrible to have to live after losing someone.

I know how that feels. There will always be this hole inside, but one must go on and live the best one can. There will never be a replacement, but there will be other opportunities to live again. Eventually.

Where do you come from? What's your life like?

Hmmmm. At least you've started with the easy questions

I came from Oxford, in another world- there are lots of worlds. Anyway, a year or so ago, things happened-I was given an Alethiometer, I went north, to rescue my friend Roger. My father... He killed Roger, by cutting him away from his daemon, and ripped open a gateway to another world... I went through, and met Will. My father had begun to fight a war against the Authority. Will and I... I met Will, and I helped him find his father, and he helped me go to the world of the dead to find Roger. After that... I fell in love with him, but we were from different worlds, and you can't stay in any world other than your own, or you'll waste away, and all the doorways between worlds were being sealed up, so we both had to go back to our own worlds.

OOC: Yes, it is a bit more difficult, but it does help you get inside a characters head more, which is always helpful for stories.

IC: Mine's Lyra Silvertongue, and I think this place is a whole bunch of worlds at once. The alethiometer told me, but I thought I could'nt read it anymore.

There are lots of worlds, all sort of in the same place, but you can't get to one or another. Not now anyway

So does that means that there could be other people here...even if they've died?

"I dunno," Lyra said, "I've been to the afterlife, and it en't like this. Some other people though, they say they remember dying before they came here. There are a lot of different kinds of people here, from all kinds of worlds." She paused, then looked up at the older woman, "If you're looking for someone... Yeah, I'll help you. I'm looking for someone to, but I'm not sure if they're here," she offered.

Lyra looked down at the ground, then fiddled with the hem of her skirt. "Can I stay with you for a while? I've been sleeping in a park, but I'd like to have someplace to stay, in case it rains," she explained.

"I won't be any trouble at all!" she promised, looking back up, "And neither will Pan!" Lyra added, clutching the pine marten to her chest and softly stroking his reddish gold fur.
