Yesterday was Lisa’s surgery. They called me around 9:30 am to let me know that all had gone well. I immediately posted to the board she requested I post to and sent email to members of Lisa’s family. Today was reasonably calm. Our driver picked us up at 11 this morning and took us to the mall. I bought a coffee maker and then we headed off to look for coats. We stopped in an electronic’s store, but we couldn’t find anyone at all who communicated in English. We are getting better with the language, but not good enough yet to do shopping ( Read more... )

Lisa and I arrived at the airport on September 11 around 9 pm for our 11:20 flight. When we arrived we were told that the flight was on time. During the next four hours we switched gates and were repeatedly told that we had been delayed due to weather, but that we would be boarding the plane shortly to head out. I'm leaving for Brazil TOMORROW! I have no real idea how this crept up on me so fast. I have my passport, my visa, clean clothes, and my electronics (cell phone, gameboy, ipod, ipaq, and laptop) all charged up and ready to go. I got my motorcycle endorsement today :-D

Ok, that's not totally true. Today I passed the test after taking a motorcycle class and as soon as they mail me my card I will have my motorcycle endorsement!

Next I must find a shiny Honda Rebel for my very own.

Next month I'm going to Brazil! I have a friend who will be down there having a procedure done and she really wanted someone with her both for support and so that there was someone nearbye who knows her wishes should there be any complications.
