Dear Regis, Kathryn, and Erik,

Thanks for the belt sander that you gave Joe and I for our wedding!  I just (finally) got to use it for a big(ish) project and I think that I shall have to find more things to sand because that is just FUN!  I spent this afternoon removing, sanding, and refinishing the rails on our front porch!

That I am not interested in losing more friends by debating politics.  I previously made several posts regarding Sarah Palin and I could make many many many more.  However, previous election arguments have taught me that friends are more important than trying to convince someone I am right and they are wrong.  I could keep arguing and others could ( Read more... )

So I discussed this subject with my Mom while I was in AK after seeing a commercial on TV regarding the subject. The commercial showed a picturesque area of Alaska that the meany oil villains were interested in despoiling. The truth? The beautiful scenery shown in the main media is NOT the land in question. Let me start by saying I hate political speeches. A lot! But Sarah Palin's speech at the RNC was inspiring and impressive. I am particularly noticing how little she needs a teleprompter and her tendency to look out at the crowd and at least appear to make eye contact.
