Prometheus in Fifteen Minutes

You know what? I saw this movie twice, and I saw it in 3D both times (side note: the 3D is really well done; it's actually comfortable to watch), and I loved it, and I would go see it again right now. But... let's put it this way: this was really fun and relatively easy to write. Still working on something for The Avengers, which, given that I tend ( Read more... )

Excellent! I also really enjoyed the movie (and thought of you and all my eyesquick friends during That Scene - in 3D no less!) and didn't think too hard while I was watching it....but O! The stupid and the bad science! So rampant. I love reading a m15m of a movie I liked, that's the best kind - thanks!

Never fear, Cleo...your M15M has convinced me I NEED to see this movie now. I was planning on giving it a miss due to hwooorrrfff. (or rather, being easily queased.) But it sounds inexplicable and awesome. And now I know which parts to close my eyes for (eyes! GAAAAH)

It's actually not as bad as you'd think--I mean, his eye, you know to avoid that, and the surgery, it's pretty obvious when that's going to happen. It's a lot more ~philosophical~ than most of the Alien movies. For real, the stuff that is good, like the visuals and the acting, is AWESOME. (And I have also really enjoyed listening to the soundtrack while writing this up.) The stuff that makes no sense is just fun.

Dude, did you see the movie? That is a purely factual statement. It is amazing.

I didn't. You mean he really keeps watching Lawrence of Arabia? Wow. I think I'd sooner stick a spork in my eye. (Now, if it were The Lion in Winter . . . )

YAAAAY WE GET TO PLAY "I AM NEVER MAKING IT UP"

Yeah, he totally sits there highlighting his hair to look more like Peter O'Toole, repeating lines from the movie. The robot. Sits there. Highlighting his hair. I will never, ever get over that.

*standing ovation*

*tip jar fed*

Also, I see what you mean (over on your 'main' LJ) about not being able to put up a sample quote. It'd be either a major spoiler or incomprehensible. Or (more likely) both.
Maybe 'mmh Mmmfh'm mmmf fm m hmf' (still giggling over that) would work?

Yeah--additionally, for some reason, a lot of this one seems to depend on context or building repetition. I'm having a hard time pulling any one line that doesn't sound completely pointless on its own. Or maybe it's just that I stared at this for eleven hours straight today, and honestly, none of it looks funny to me anymore, to the point where I'm kind of amazed people actually like it.

SO liked it! And SO VERY MUCH enjoying the reading of comments now. I'll have to come back and check the comments out for the next few days. It's a moral imperative.
