Although we're almost half way through February already I never really feel like the New Year has ticked over until I start school again. That said, this time last year I didn't think that I would still be in school this year, I wanted to start working. So... it's been awhile. My last post was back in July, my Nana was unwell. About a week after that post she turned around dramatically, she was walking again, going out shopping with my aunt, eating and looking really healthy. She died two months ago today ( Read more... ) -

I feel like tomorrow will be the worst day of my life. Saying good-bye to my Nana tomorrow will be hard to do. Dying of old age, it's not a bad thing, people have/are/will suffer through worse and they won't have had as great a life as my Nana. Tomorrow I will say good-bye to my Nana as if I will see her again. I will enjoy every second I spend ( Read more... ) -

Arrived in Brisbane today. Nana recovered last week and was allowed to leave to hospital. Even still, when I saw her today it was obvious that she's faded significantly since last November when I saw her. She's skeletal, I placed my hand on her shoulder and all I felt was bone. We just got a call from my aunt in Brisbane. My Nana is dying and will probably be gone within the next week. We can't make plans yet, it's too morbid. All I can do is sit and wait for another call. It's weird that I'm already mourning the loss of my Nana when she's not even gone yet and it's more upsetting that there's little hope or chance of her ( Read more... ) -

Ok, so it seems that I suck at job hunting in the Australian Public Service. I keep telling myself that it's not me, it's them, it's the GFC and the fact that they generally prefer to take on people with 4 year/honour degrees than people with 3 year degrees. I'm kind of relieved that I've not had much success getting a job in an APS grad program, ( Read more... ) -
