Sat/Sun/Mon - Both of my mom's sisters came into town.  Visited with them, read 340 pages for school and worked.
Tues - Continued huge project for client, presentation on anthropological theory to Ethnography class
Wed - Submitted third-person narrative to Writing class; took Mom out for her 60th birthday

Well, here I am at school again and I'm already bored to death.  Not that I don’t have plenty to do.  My first class is in an hour, but I had to get to campus early because of traffic and parking.  The first two weeks are always a bitch since everyone is trying to add classes, move their schedule around and so forth.  I have a large project I'm ( Read more... )

If you could rename yourself in real life, what would you choose, and why?

I know it's been a while, but the end of the academic year is always a bitch.  I got through the semester in one piece, kept my 4.0 for a little longer and it appears I won't be able to do summer school after all.  This could pose a problem since the class I was going to take is a prereq for one I need next semester, but I've emailed the department ( Read more... )

I need to get away for a while to clear my head and recharge the batteries before summer school starts. I've been in a real funk lately.   But I can't afford to do anything expensive or lengthy.  If any of you have any suggestions of fun, inexpensive ways to take a mini-vacation, I would love to hear it.

Last night, Iggy Pop and the Stooges gave a free concert.  It's hard to believe the guy is 60 years old now.  He looks great, better than he did in the 80's.  Guess that's what happens when you get away from drugs.  A ton of people I haven't seen in ages were there.  Good crowd all together ( Read more... )

It has come to my attention that it would be in my best interest to drop the Bio class this semester because the primary instructor (there are two for this class) takes points off exams just to avoid giving As. He also writes multiple choice questions that have two correct answers, but you have to guess which one he likes best. He also treats ( Read more... )

It’s strange how easy it is to lose people along the way. I know life can get complicated and distracting, and before you know it, it’s been several months since you last spoke with someone. People also move away and aren’t very good at long-distance communication, so they eventually disappear as well. It’s unfortunate, but it is a fairly common ( Read more... )

Went to Vegas this weekend and I fractured my knee cap on some of the lovely polished tile that the city seems to favor so much. My ligaments were spared, so I should be fine. School started today and dealing with the various flights of stairs was murder. I was able to take the elevator in most of the buildings, but not all of them ( Read more... )
