So far Midnighter had determined two things. The first was that there was no way out. The doors and windows didn't break, and if they didn't break when he hit them there was a good chance nothing was going to break 'em. The second was that there were more people in this house than just himself and that kid judging by how the dust in the house had been disturbed. Only problem with that second observation was that, other than the kid, he hadn't run into anyone. Given that the house wasn't that big, either they were hiding or he had some sort of fucking choice blindness where these mysterious people were all where he wasn't looking. Odder things had happened.

And then he saw a kid with an eye-patch in the dining room. Oh good, he wasn't going totally crazy after all.

"What do you know about this place?"

The teen turned, then blinked at the man. Wow. He was kind of...odd looking. Akito was kind of glad his other was asleep, he didn't doubt Agito would be muttering in his head otherwise and that was kind of distracting.

"Nyu? Not much, I'm afraid..." he replied, turning fully to face the other, though he kept his hand on his shoulder in an attempt to make it hurt less. It wasn't working well, but he liked to think it was. "I just know that there's not a lot of ways out, and it's like this place is haunted. Also it's smaller than I thought it'd be." He hummed a little, considering before shrugged. "Also it's been at least five normal days, but the sun hasn't set yet." It was only just past noon, judging by the clock...

Oblivious to the fact his head-to-toe leather costume might be considered odd, he crossed the dining room to be closer to the other person in the room. Never in the 10+ years of "life" had he ever been glad to see a stranger, at least not one he was planning to kill.

"Shit, seriously? How can you know that it's been five days if the sun hasn't set? Maybe the clocks are fast."

Noticing the way the eye-patch kid kept holding his arm, he added "What happened to your shoulder?"

"I have an internal clock that can't be tampered with or changed. I can tell time to the second, so I know it's been five days, 9 hours, 5 minutes and 32 seconds since I arrived here, and it hasn't been night once." Akito wasn't showing off as such, just stating what he knew. Also the only clock he'd seen was actually going very slowly.

He rubbed his shoulder a little. "Ah...I got hurt before arriving here. My collarbone's broken. It hurts a little." He wasn't willing to take the painkiller for forever, so it was hurting more today, but he could ignore it. So long as it didn't slip out of place again, he'd be fine.

O... kay then. Midnighter didn't read anything abnormal about the kid, so he must have been some kind of idiot savant or something. It was hard to remember sometimes that people just had weird tics, especially when most of his time was spent around people with abilities. "Um, sure kid, take your word on that."

He inched closer to take a look. "Have you gotten that treated?" Not that he really was much help. Usually he was the one in the infirmary getting patched up by either Angie or the Doctor, not being the one doing the patching up.

Akito didn't mind that he probably didn't believe him. The light knew some people had issues with that kind of thing.

"Uh-uh." He shook his head a little. "It's back in the place where it's supposed to be, and it's kind of immobilised, but..." He showed the scarves tied tight around his shoulder underneath his jacket. "It still hurts though."

Oh, he believed him, but it was the exact to the second thing he found a little offputting.

"I'm no expert, but you might be better off putting that arm in a sling, kid. The way your shoulder's tied, your gonna move the rest of that arm eventually and your still gonna put pressure on your collar bone." Or at least that was what Angie told him once. He thinks.

"Huh...you think so?" He'd wondered about a sling. His arm wasn't broken, but it'd be better to not move it...hm. "I wonder what I can use for that..." Another scarf maybe, one of the wide ones. Though he was worried that would tear...

"I've fucked up my arm a couple times now." Midnighter glanced around the room, trying to find something . He first glanced at the table--tables usually have tablecloths, and tablecloths can be torn into makeshift slings. Nope. Too lacy. His eyes turned to the walls. A place this fucking fancy had to have fancy drapes to match. Sure enough...

He gave the drapes and unceremonious yank off the wall, then ripped that into a piece of cloth suitable for the kid to use as a sling. "This should work."

As for the rest of the cloth, Midnigher dumped it on the ground and kicked it off to the side.

He winced a little at that, hoping that nobody would mind the slight destruction of things. The light smiled a little though in thanks. "Thank-you, neh." He took it with his left hand, grateful that it was his dominant hand, and easily tied it into a mock-sling, letting his arm rest in it. Akito had learned long ago to take care of himself, including in the event that he broke an arm. He'd done it before, after all...

"Also, this should go without saying but don't put the knot on the broken collarbone..." Midnighter's gaze went between eyepatch boy's wince and the drapes. Jesus wept. "Kid, you've been held captive for five days. A ripped curtain should be the least of the worries of whoever the fuck did this."

With the injury taken care of for now, he decided to take a good look at the other person in the room. He couldn't be more than what, 16? What the fuck kind of weird pervert is taking kids and locking them in a house? And if it was a pervert, why was he here? Did the pervert have a death wish or something, because if so that was something the Midnighter would be more than happy to oblige. Truth be told, killing their host was something that he was going to do whether they liked it or not.

Looking away before he started to stare, he grumbled "Got a name?"

Akito knew that one, having placed the knot just behind his shoulder, out of his eyesight (anything behind him on the right was in a blindspot thanks to the eyepatch), but he managed. He shrugged a little at the mention of being kidnapped. Sure, it was a problem, but he really didn't want whoever had taken him here mad at him...mad people did bad things.

He didn't mind the look over. With his height, he wouldn't be surprised if the man pegged him for 12 or under. 4'3" did that to people. "I'm Akito, Akito Wanijima," the light replied easily. He tested the strength of the sling and, satisfied that it'd hold, let his arm rest in it. Agito wouldn't be pleased, he was primarily right-handed. Oh well...

Don't worry about the mad person, Midnighter will take care of him or her. Preferably by tearing their head from the rest of their body after discovering why they were brought there in the first place. The idea makes him almost giddy with anticipation.

He nodded as he committed the name to memory. "The Midnighter."

The Midnighter...what a strange name. Almost superhero like.

"It's nice to meet you, Midnighter-san," he replied, noticing how that sounded...strange. Oh well, he wasn't about to leave the honorific off. Akito hummed a little before venturing to ask, "...if you don't mind me asking, but...are you a hero or something like that, ne?" Akito had never heard of a real superhero before, but with the outfit and that name...well.

He nodded. "Where I'm from, I'm a member of something called The Authority--we help make the world a better place."

...Or they try, anyway. The last few weeks Midnighter hadn't been feeling like much of a hero. But this kid doesn't need to really know the Jenny story. No one outside of the Authority ever needs to know that.

"You're in Middle school? High School?"

"Oooh....that's kinda neat!" Akito was officially impressed.

He head-tilted at that a little before remembering the naming differences between countries. "Junior High, neh. Though I haven't been to school much. My older brother taught me everything I know, basically." The light went to school, but he didn't really do much there except sleep through the boring classes and bother his teammates...
