Book Club
So some friends of mine from high school and I have reconnected while we're all back in Pittsburgh being unemployed or going to gradschool, and we've started a book club. So, I am in New York now. Living with the lovely Moo, in our adorable apartment. Attending fancy SFWA receptions and attempting (with some small success) to network. This morning I was sitting in the car with my dad on the way to work listening to NPR and we heard a story about a woman in Pittsburgh who had been robbed at an ATM and, when her assailant saw her McCain/Palin bumper sticker, he told her he would teach her a lesson, beat her, and carved a B into her cheek presumably standing for Barack Obama. So, my mom and I went out to the Animal Rescue League yesterday and picked up two of the most adorable kittens ever. The girl is a tiny little grey stripy thing with spots on her belly and white markings on her face, she's is lovely.
