I have a meeting next Tuesday with my supervisor and HR, they will be giving me (and the other administrative assistants)our 45 days notice, which will make Sept 17th my last day here. Taking a break from reading, it's been getting slower and slower everyday here, just got a couple of new books in this week. One is "Broke" by Karen Slaughter, also "Cold" by T. Giresten. We have our own way of celbrating the 4th of July - join the Marines. My oldest grandson has been talking to recruiters, made his decision, and then talked with his Mom, this week he passed his final tests - the medical tests, signed on the dotted line and took his oath. Looks like a rather long day today, I came in to nothing to do and don't expect it to get much better today. I've also been having a lot of lower back problems, but can't get into the doctors until July 12th. Finally a chance to update. Been fairly busy at work as this is the first half of the month. The company plans on starting this month to send my work to NY to be done. They should be done with this process by the end of July. Aug 1st they will give us (the admins) our 45 day notice and then we become EIT's (Employee In Transition). ( Read more... )

Been awhile since I've been on to post. Still job hunting, I have one more job here to hear back on, but don't really plan on getting it. Finally caught up with the VP, and he was calling with a reject call, at least I won't be wondering now, I won't get the e-mail from HR for awhile, knowing them. Hopefully the job went to one of the other admins that is being displaced, they have all been with the company for over 20 and some for over 30 years.
