Explanations for some of the strange plots that have happened previously
From the show:
A kid with a crush on Maraich hands him a love letter. Maraich tears it up right in front of him. The kid did absolutely nothing wrong.
Maraich throwing a tantrum when Bancoran tells him he can't show up for their date. He packs his things and runs off to another country, screaming and yelling and throwing things at people.
Maraich shooting Patalliro out of the sky. Why? Because he can. He then says he thought Patalliro was an alien. Then says an alien would have been cuter. Then gets extremely pissed off that Patalliro keeps mispronouncing his name (in the manga he threatens Patalliro with a knife).
Lots of different things. Include Maraich beating up Bancoran, getting pissed off and breaking things and throwing a tantrum when Bancoran drinks, hitting Patalliro with throwing axes, him meowing and rolling around on the ground, shows how much Bancoran is afraid of Maraich's temper several times, has Maraich stalking Bancoran and beating people up on the way over and over again, and has Tamanegi soldiers randomly popping out of the closet and carrying people away right behind him without him noticing.
From the manga:

Patalliro bops Maraich's son on the head. Maraich pounds him into the ground.

More randomness. Maraich sitting on a piggy. I don't even have an explanation for this.
Showing a little more randomness from the manga (as if there's any lack thereof), child Bancoran. Laughing. In his sleep.
All of the characters think highly of themselves. For example, when Figaro is a genius, both Maraich and Bancoran think to themselves, "Just like me". Although I don't have that particular page uploaded anywhere.
Another example of him being mean that I don't happen to have uploaded is that another man has a crush on Maraich. He gives Maraich a very expensive watch. Maraich acts happy and accepts it. Then he smashes it on the ground and walks away.
And I hope that's a satisfactory explanation of why Maraich is: Immature, mean, throws tantrums, thinks highly of himself, and does completely random, absurd stuff.
