I am trying to gain the courage to call the number of this psychologist someone recommended to me.. I have had such bad experiences with psychologists in the past (right now I only see a psychiatrist for meds.. we dont really talk in depth).. I know I am at a point where I should talk to someone about how to deal with being chronically ill.. but I am scared aobut even having enough energy to make it to a therapy appt once a week.. plus my parents would have to drive me since I can barely drive anymore and I cant deal with the guilt attached to depending on them for that as much I have been lately..THen there is the money.. who is going to PAY for the therapy.. I honestly have no idea if Medicare covers this sort of thing

Medicare should pay for this treatment, for your first step, call the therapist's office and ask to speak to the billing person. They will go over your insurance with you and tell you what to expect. I have a secondary insurance, through the state I live in (MA), it picks up what Medicare doesn't cover the majority of the time. Call your local welfare office, if you can't find a listing anywhere else. Single moms and their kids are also covered under the program I'm in. I had the same thing when I lived in RI

A year or two ago I found a really good workbook on dealing with loss. All kinds of loss. I didn't get very far with it, but it was very good. I was using it to try to get a grip on losing my life, and it was helping. I need to go back to it. It also says it's even more helpful if you can do with book with someone else going through loss. I guess hearing the responses in their excercises helps to put your own inperspective. Of course, since I have no memory, I can't tell you the name of the book or the authors, but I can look if anyone is interested. I generally hate self=help books, but this one is very good, in my not so humble opinion.

Not too much of a brain to be able to give advice but having a hug can sometimes help!!
Surely there must be some sort of disability // advocacy agency that can help with worries about practical things like you having just now?
Now get to it and find me some bus times!!!
