One of our longest resident's passed away this week. Many of our staff members have known this man since 1997. He has lived at the Bailey Boushay House since 2004. He was so demented that he couldn't really be left alone so the day I started at Bailey they started a Namaste program which meant he had 1 on 1 staff 16 hrs a day. This program is ( Read more... )

I have had chronic upper back and neck pain for many years. This is one of the reasons I got a breast reduction this summer. Now that I'm back to work I can tell that the breast reduction did nothing to help my pain. So, I am now trying a new chiropractor. My last living blood related grandparent just passed away. My mom's dad. He went into the emergency room on Sunday May 24th with breathing problems. They found that his lungs were half full of fluids and his heart was only pumping at 15%. He was suffering from Congestive Heart Failure. After calculating my taxes at least 3 or 4 different ways with different results each time I went to the library and got some free help and e-filed. I now owe the IRS $231. I still think I owe because my part time job at the clinic didn't take out enough federal income tax throughout the year so now I have changed the way I claim from 1 to 0 ( Read more... )

So I work with a very opinionated nurse who's got me re-thinking this whole LNP to RN ladder thing. She really thinks that soon WA state will require that all nurses have their BSN in order to be a new hire. My throat hurts and my normal aches in my back and neck are worse than "normal". I really hope I'm not coming down with something. I'm obsessive about vitamins...but I guess they can't always work.

One of my favorite patients is dying this week. He's been dying very slowly since Nov. when they told him they may have to cut off his foot due to a horrible KS lesion that isn't getting better with chemo.
