A couple of people have expressed a desire for a third option, like "Perfectly fine decorating technique if executed well." My goal is to get a gut reaction check; what's the first thing you think when you hear "accent wall"? "Yay" or "Nay"?

I picked the positive answer, you may have wanted me to pick the negative.

I'd never have one - they're a design feature I dislike. But they do work, and some people like them. TNAFT.

Never done it but I always wanted to. And it's waay older than the 90's. ;->

Sometimes a burst of an extreme color (deep red, brilliant orange) can add a lot to a room, but it can be overwhelming in large doses. All of the accent walls I've seen have been attractive.
