Out for a walk yesterday and came across and advertisement for what was either shoe polish or hair pomade. I stared at a black and white poster of a man in what must be the height of fashion. Went to the Ann Arbor library but didn't bring a piece of mail with me so I couldn't get a library card. Want to check out a book called "Age of Betrayal: The Triumph of Money in America from 1865-1900." Published this year, looks really good. ( Read more... )

Had a series of unsettling dreams last night. In the first one that I remember, a friend of mine died and I remember looking at her headstone and it was terribly sad. Got drunk two nights in a row. First time was two nights ago. Met up with David and Alex for dinner at China Gate, then proceeded to get wasted off of Powerade mixed with booze. Totally broke my resolution to update every day. Hardly critical, though. The biggest event was graduation on Saturday. Successfully made it through four years at UofM. Just took my last exam and feel a little shell shocked. I don't want to say that I can't believe it's over, but I keep asking myself if I made the most of it all. I think I did. In short, this is why I'm having such a difficult time finding a job: I am the first person in my family who ever had to find one right out of college. It's the truth. Consider the lineage.
