Ouch dude, that sucks. I was fortunate when I applied, my references were all in-district to Central Islip.

I'm somewhat perplexed they didn't call back. As Cold Spring Harbor got in touch with my references within a week.

I was screwed there by an 11th hour "we need to see proof of certification"...which I don't have, and won't have till "14-18 weeks" after July 5th (when it was sent to Albany). I got documentation it was sent there, but not until after the September board meeting, but was told it'd get sent for approval at the October Board meeting (which is today ironically).

1) Jones Beach

2) My cooperating teacher from Northport.

3) A Professor at Stony Brook (who I just got an e-mail from, and said he called them, left a message, and never heard back from).

I faxed over the reference letter I got from reference #3.
