Well, the day finally came yesterday. I was able to pickup Harry Potter 7 and enjoyed reading it. Although it's kind of the end of an era. Before this book, nobody knew how the series would end. Rogues Island
Rhode Islanders take a certain perverse pride in describing their state as "corrupt", mob ridden, and filled with nuts. When I got my drivers license (only requiring two trips to the DMV), the woman behind the counter referred to it as "Rogues Island". Flaming Providence
Saturday night I went out with some of my fellow interns to a Providence experience called "Waterfire" (not Fire water as I kept calling it). Pretty much it consists of burning pyres that float on the river, accompanied by eerie music. It was kind of cool and it was definitely popular with the locals. Sad
A sad time around UofM hospital. Earlier this week a jet carrying a UofM transplant team of six with donor organs crashed into the Great Lakes. There were no survivors. I didn't know any of the inidividuals personally, but dying during such a selfless act only heightens the tragedy. I had gone on Survival Flight once before and it's common for ( Read more... ) -
24 "hours"
So, I'm about one episode away from finishing the first season of 24, and I'm not impressed. I find many of the characters really annoying and overly dramatic. I understand that they have 24 "hours" (actually 40 minutes if you take out commercials, recaps, and that stupid clock) to fill with suspense, but there's a reason most shows have editing ( ( Read more... )
