My roommate has been very sick for the last three days. This morning he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory virus. -

I developed my first roll of film yesterday. To my surprise, it came out reasonably well, and I'll probably be able to make a few prints from it. What should be black (on the flim) came out as a dark gray, so I'll have to ask my instructor about what happened.
Today I'll probably make a contact sheet and maybe even some prints. -

This weekend was fun. two_pi_r and I went to Albuquerque on Friday night and moved our beer into a second fermentation chamber the next day. Other than that we were pretty lazy, but I had lots of fun with everyone I got to see.
Pi also found the best Youtube hack ever.

The batch of Russian Imperial Stout that two_pi_r and I cooked up yesterday is fermenting nicely. I think we messed up on a few things, but at least it's going to be alcoholic. I won't know how we did for a while because we have to wait a week, bottle it, then wait two to seven weeks for it to condition in the bottle. Between this and developing my own ( Read more... ) -

I'm moved into my apartment. My roommate is a nice guy and successful student who only has 2 classes left to graduate, and I have real Ethernet instead of some bizarre crap requires a magic (and elusive) box to work. Things are pretty swell. -

My parents and I went driving around in the mountains today. I'd forgotten how beautiful the area less than an hour away from our house is. We also saw a couple dozen deer. We're back in Carlsbad. We saw a few bits of ice on the road around Carrizozo and Capitan, but nothing serious at all. I'm glad we didn't spend the night in Santa Fe, because all I really want to do is sit around in a heated building and I've lost interest in food for a while. -

After letting some family drama settle this morning, a few of us went out to Bosquesito to check something on my grandmother's property.
