When I was asked today about some English grammar and why it was like that, I said I didn't know. One of my students declared that it 'must be something Obama decided.' That's now my go-to explination when I'm asked things about English that I don't know. It was something Obama decided.

The other day one of my students came up to me an informed me that because he had finished all his major assignments for the school year, he no longer had anything to live for.
