My youngest son left for CA this morning. He will be doing an internship with Intel for the next nine months. This is a college/employer program. When he returns next year, he'll resume his junior year of college. He is very excited to have been offered this opportunity. I think he will miss the puppy the most ( Read more... )

The puppy has been pouting since we returned from dog training class last night. For most of the class she wagged her tail. Toward the end the trainer recommended a Gentle Leader headcollar for the puppy so I can control her on walks. I had tried this collar two months ago and I had a hard  time even getting it on it. I'm currently reading "House of the Scorpion" by Nancy Farmer. A few years ago I had started reading this book and set it aside. I'm not sure why, but I do know that many times after re-reading a book I'm able to look at it differently and enjoy it.  Perhaps it has to do with my mood at the time. My daughter arrived last night. Her flight had been delayed for three hours so I haven't had a chance to talk with her much. She's only here for a week. Anytime one of my kiddos visit and then leaves, I have to let go all over again.

A long while back I blogged about how my older sister had always wanted to go to nursing school, but she'd never had the chance. She applied, got accepted, and will be graduating in a month.
