It's our open Saturday for the month, and I'm at work, monitoring a group of visitors who have come to see the photo exhibit before it comes down. Not a bad week so far. Started out with a lot of rain, but has since cleared up. Busy week at work, several large classes in, a couple of neat donors. I love meeting people who are interested in investing in education! They're all so intelligent and diverse! Had coffee last night with M, heard some good stories, caught up on everything. Today has been very peaceful. Not many patrons came in, and I spent most of the day processing dissertations and listening to Hyde. Had Thai iced tea at lunch. Hope everyone is having a good year so far. New Year's Eve was fun, spent it with several old friends and a couple new ones. We played video games and Trivial Pursuit, stayed up until 3am, listened to all the noise from the party at the nearby Hyatt, drank lots of good alcohol. Walking through the bookstore tonight, I saw a book called "Manga". It was a huge art book published by Taschen. I love their books- nice printing quality, good information... usually. This one talked about manga as a literary form, then dedicated several pages to about 100 manga-kas. It mentioned each author's main work, some basic ( Read more... )

Had a fairly good weekend. Picked up tons of manga and the first DVD of Read or Die on Friday night. Came home, talked to a friend who's staying with me this weekend, and to Dad about the condo. Had such a fantastic night last night. Went to bake and listen to jazz with S. She made the most scrumptious cinnamon rolls with yummy orange frosting, they were worth the three-week wait.
