The Colbert Report taping reporT: January 10th, 2007.

This is sort of stream-of-conscious-y and it might be incoherent, but hopefully you'll all dig it anyway.

a long-winded account of the taping and how i might have potentially influenced a part of the second 'we the mediator' bit )

*explodes in fangirlish glee* I tell you, my jaw just dropped when he did the segment again pre-O'Reilly. It made my year. And it's only January ( ... )

That IS good to know--I really didn't know that much about anything about the other castmates. Is she just famous for being on Big Brother, or is she famous/notable for any other reason? (Aside from being ignorant, that is.) It's encouraging to know that people are infuriated that she's getting more attention ( ... )

That was a terrific story! I'm smiling for your amazing good fortune and I don't even know you. And girl, you most definitely influenced content. There's no way for me to actually guarantee that, if not for your question, he wouldn't have done the second segment, but.... it certainly seems as though you, and you alone, made that happen. Bask in it.

Aww...thanks! (I'm glad you read the whole thing...props to you for getting through it all...hahaha.) I still can't get over the fact that they did "We the Mediator" again so soon, and he mentioned specifically that he doesn't normally change his opinions, but...

I'd love to think I had a hand in that. I'm basking in it. I still can't get over it. :-)

Ugh, obnoxious Pepsi-commercial man. I don't actually watch Bollywood movies. I should probably reserve judgment, seeing as how all I have to go on is that one commercial. But still. It was an extremely irritating commercial.

Nice taping report. Haha, I was watching TCR the first Mediator episode and my mother came running in from the other room and was all, What? Why on earth is he showing Hindi movie clips? I thought that was your dad watching TV upstairs...

His pronunciation of their names was okay at best.

Indian commercials in general are quite irritating. But I love Shah Rukh. I can't help it. :-P

I thought his pronounciation was pretty good for someone who'd probably never encountered them before or heard them pronounced correctly...Amy Pohler on SNL really did quite a number on them, and he wasn't nearly as bad. Hehehe.

Wooonderful report. :D

However, I must insist that you share his answer to the Chuck and Geoffrey question! :P Pleeeeease? In fact, I'd like to know the answers to all the questions you mentioned! :>

(I'd also die to see him dancing like that, but that's less easy to do over the internet. ;P)

Ohhhh, I wish I could remember exactly what his response was...it was worded oh-so-specifically which is what made it funny. Something about role-playing off camera...UGH I wish I could remember, but I was getting all fangirl-adrenaline pumping because I was gearing up for my question. But I definitely remember something about role-playing, and it made me giggle.

Silly me, I should've put in the answers to the questions...with regards to the beard, he says he's considered it, but these days his beard grows in white/gray (!) so he's not really sure it'll work. He claims he had no formal vocal training (as in singing training), but he did go to theater school so whatever they taught him there I would imagine helps when he sings. Lutherans are On Notice because TV Stephen is a SuperCatholic who thinks Martin Luther was a troublemaker. And he says he hadn't thought of a Christmas album until right then when that lady asked the question (heehee!).

Oh man, I wish you remembered, too. ;) If you DO remember, even like, next year, feel free to comment to this and tell me! ;D I like knowing these things, oh yes.

And I would honestly love a Christmas album. ;D He could grow a grey/white beard for the cover! :P Heee.

Thank you. :D

You have no idea how much I wish I'd remembered exactly how he put it...it was just so deliciously hilarious. He went off on role-playing, something about that, and then snapped back to being dignified and was like "Um, no, of course there was no reality in that. At all." And I was like just giggling hysterically. (The best part of that question, though, was the fact that a good half of the audience were, like, my dad's age, not SWC fans necessarily, and not really sure why anyone would think to ask such a question about him and Paul Dinello...so a lot of the fun for me was regestering the blank "Huh?" looks on people's faces when he was answering. Hehehehe.)

That's a really good idea for the Christmas album cover! Hahahahahaha. I love it! :-)

Wow. Just incredibly wow. You have met Colbert, seen him dance like SRK, and were an extra in a bollywood movie. You=My Hero!
And I totally agree, TCR should employ you^^ and that Aishwariya is all hype. We certainly do have lots in common :D

Hehehe...excellent!

Oh, so glad to find someone else who thinks Aishwarya is overrated. I know way too many people who are like "OMG no don't hate on her she's so pretty!" And I'm just like, okay, she's not that pretty (I actually think Sushmita Sen is prettier...and Priyanka Chopra, as long as we're talking about former beauty queens-turned-Hindi film actresses), and secondly, just because she's pretty doesn't mean she's a good actress, or that her movies are good. I think the only think I liked her in was Bunty aur Babli, and that's because she was only there for one song and didn't talk. (Haha.)

I fell into the extra thing quite by accident, but it was a lot of fun. We got sort of treated like cattle (because extras are sort of the lowest on the totem pole in filmmaking), but just getting to see people up close like that who I've been watching since I was so little was amazing.
