Melon Field 5 [Chris]

The nearest melon field is a short trip to the north. But despite its proximity to the town, the forest quickly thickens, and this melon field sits in a perfect weedless square, looking odd against the wild bushes all around it. Komui was angry now. Not only had HIS opponent been destroyed; he was now covered in melon juice. He decided to take out his rage on green melon #5 by kicking it.

He noticed the reaction. "You don't like water, do you?" he asked the melon. He proceeded to drag it back to the apartments and drop it in some hot water in the bathroom sink.

Komui took a moment to think what might be missing. He recalled that his tears initially gave him the idea of water, and it occured to him that salt water may be the key. He ran off to get some salt and returned, dumping it into the water.

He groaned in annoyance, taking the melon and pressing his ear and cheek to it, wondering if it was even really a melon.

He then realized that, in all of his beating at the melons, he'd managed to cut a gash in his hand. Some of the blood smeared onto the melon.
