Public: Curly Girl for curly girls

Aug 02, 2004 17:35

I'm so pleased that so many of you are trying out the curly girl method! :-) I want to make sure that you're doing it properly, so I'm posting the exact directions from Lorranie Massey's Curly Girl book. This post is public, so you can send all your curly friends over here ( Read more... )

Can I quote some of your testimonial on my Got Curl site? ;) ;)

Great job... Wow what a revolution Nat has started... ;)

Yes, you may quote me! I gotta get my fame somehow. ;-)

Nat really did start a revolution, but she has no idea of it! LOL She might be slightly surprised when she comes back from China. ;-)

You are now quoted. :) You have a curly girl picture to post with your review?? If so you can email it to me. ;)

I told Nat's mom that there's a major revolution going on. =) I can't wait for Nat to come home and find all the curly girl entries!! ;) (Okay, I just plain can't wait for her to come home... ;))

Hehe, I see my words up there now! :-) The only curly pictures I have are the two I posted in my first curly girl post. I don't especially like the one of my face because I look so stare-y.

It's a March Sisters weekend coming up, which means we'll take TONS of pictures. Perhaps I'll get a nice, curly one for you to post! :-) I shall send one your way once I get one that I'm pleased with. :-)

I can't believe I had the chance to meet Nat next week, but I'll will be out of town. How SAD! :-(

Well, y'all have convinced me: I'm gonna try it. I highly doubt if it will result in anything cool, but I say don't knock it till you try it.

Perhaps you won't have to ever get an expensive perm again! You never know. :-)

I'm assuming you think you might be wavy? That's prolly the best method to start with if you aren't sure how wavy/curly your hair is.

Yeah, experimentation will help you. How much conditioner you use and/or leave in will depend from person to person, so you'll just have to try different things out. I think your hair also has to get off its "shampoo dependency," so you may have a few oily days before then.

If you have SOME curl, that means you have potential for more. Go for it!

Thank you for making these posts public, from a wavy girl cursed with never being able to hold a real curl, my hair is drying curly as we speak from the wavy post, I even printed the post so I could follow the directions. I caught your entry through jmcphers friend's page. Maybe you should start a community for curly girls so they can post tips!

Good idea! Curly hair has become such a topic on LJ, it's going to stay that way for a while, I'd guess... ;) Someone told me to start a message board, but I think a community sounds better. ;)
