I--and my knitting needles--have been busy. I have been knitting nearly every day (even on vacation!), trying to fulfill the orders for hats and scarves I've been commissioned to make, plus create all the Christmas presents I want to give. Everything is done now, just in time for Christmas. It's a good thing I love knitting so much ( Read more... )

Wow, all of those are beautiful! Especially the set you made for yourself--it looks so soft and cuddly. =)

(Bethany was wearing her scarf when I met her, btw, so I have seen your work in person and it's every bit as good as the pictures! I wish I had time to take up knitting.)

Thanks. :-) Yes, my set is sooo soft and cuddly. I am quite in love with that yarn.

Knitting is not difficult. It should only take you a few hours to learn. You have a few hours, right? :-)

(She wore it? Delight! :-D I am quite pleased. That means that since she opened the gift, I can now post a picture of it. :-)

LOL, I was just about to comment and tell Melinda that she left one out.

I woudl say thank you, Mellie dear, but I have this thing about writing actual thank you notes first. :-|

I left more than one out. ;-) Waiting for people to open their gifts.... :-)

Haha, I have the same thing too. People think their gifts got lost in the mail on the way to me because I remain silent on them until I can get a note out. But it's more fun that way! :-)

Those are really beautiful! Way to make a gorgeous, wearable item out of that hideous sweater. I really love the cabled scarf and hat, especially. :)

I agree. That sweater is greatly improved as a scarf. :-)

Yowsers! You are one busy girl!! LOL Nice job, Melinda. I've been doing quite a bit of crochetting over here on my end, too. Thank goodness school's out! ;-)

Oh, and I think the names you pick out for your finished products are perfect!! LOL

LOL thanks. I put a lot of thought into the names. Sometimes they have something to do with the project, and sometimes they have something to do with when/where I knit the item. Oliver, for example, was knit while I watched Oliver Twist. :-)

The ones I thought were REALLY fitting were Dennis and Denise, Emmy, and Ruby.

I was wondering what the cashier thought of me purchasing such a horrible sweater. ;-) It was really hard to get on for that picture. The sleeves are really weird, not to mention the neckline. :-P

Yeah, the neckline is defintiely not good. Or, rather, was defintiely not good. ;)
