"No- no, no, nonono-" Her fingles scramble, digging in to him, willing him to come back. "But it's not fair, it's not fair! Please--"

She's tugged away, and for once, she doesn't protest, doesn't fight it. She lets herself be drug, one hand covering her face. Because he was-- he couldn't be dead. But he... he was. And now she was alone.

Distantly, she was aware of someone demanding answers, asking questions, begging for an explanation, but she answered them with silence and sat, staring, at a wall. Someone came in to tell her they'd patch up her arm shortly. She didn't care. Didn't matter. He left her.

1/1. Mind if it's Rose injured this time? ;) atadiscoverer November 29 2011, 21:41:54 UTC
I would LOVE some Rosewhump. huffpuffblonde November 29 2011, 21:51:12 UTC
Getting shot hurts.

Getting shot hurts really bad.

Laying there, bleeding, isn't particularly fun, either. Panting and pressing a hand to the lower right space on her abdomen, just to the right of her bellybutton, and pretending she's not crying. She'd call out for help, but she can't really find words. Is that shock? Is she going into shock? She might be. She's not sure. She can't focus, because...

"Aaaaaaahaaowwwwwwwww--"

Awesome. atadiscoverer November 29 2011, 22:01:49 UTC
Carson is first on the scene, being the field medic for this mission.

He skids in, falling to his knees beside Rose, clicking his fingers for his med kit. "Rose, look at me. Can you hear me, love?" He says, trying to gain her attention.

"Foreign body in the abdomen. It looks pretty well in there. I'll attempt to remove it before we gate back to Atlantis." Carson says to his helper. "Lets get her lying down."

Her vision swims with pain and semi-consciousness, and she's jolted back to reality with a snap and a Scottish lilt. Oh look. The face of an angel. Boy was she glad to see him. Didn't hurt that he also happened to be a doctor.

She gives a grin that might actually mostly be a pained wince. She... might be a smidge delirious. "You called me love. That's weird. You're a bit weird-- ah god!"

A sharp stab of pain rushes through her, and she curls in on herself, lips parted. Getting shot.

Hurts really really really bad.

Carson smiles. Better her calling him weird, than nothing at all...

"Okay, Rose, listen to me. I'm going to remove the bullet, okay? You'll be as right as rain in no time." He assures her in a loud, confident voice to make sure it gets through the delerium.

"This is going to hurt, but I'm going to need you not to move around too much, okay?"

"Rain," She mutters, nodding in agreement. Which... didn't really make a lot of sense, but she stopped moving so much, so she must've understood the general principal of the matter. She's still, or as still as she can get, considering the heaving in her chest as she fights off a panic attack and shock.

She pauses, and then her eyes widen. "Wait, hang on a second, you said bullet, as in, pulling it out, as in... pulling out a bullet right here while I'm here. I'm here and you're here, in a field, and you're tugging a bullet out. That's not good. That's not a good idea. You shouldn't do that, should you? That's-- oh, blimey, please don't kill me. You've got brilliant hair, did you know? It's very spikey. Hngngggggg--"

Her chest jerks a bit, her face contorts with pain as a little sob comes out. She doesn't squirm like last time, though, because he asked her to stay still.

"Relax, Rose. I know what I'm doing." Carson says in that same soothing voice as he takes a pair of calipers and finds the entry wound. "Keep very still for me, okay? I'm going to go in."

The bullet needed to be removed. He could see the metal in there, he'd get it out quickly, stitched back up and checked out properly when they were back at Atlantis, and the Genii weren't firing at them. He slowly inserts the calipers to retrieve the bullet.

She nods, wide-eyed, and bites her lip at the sight of the calipers. That was... horrifying looking, but she trusted him. She'd seen him patch people up before. He was a good doctor. So she stiffened, the muscles in her abdomen twitching and jerking.

And then he inserted the calipers, and she threw her head back, a long, low sound escaping her lips. "Ahhhhhaahaa--"

"Nearly there..." Carson mumbles. He was sweating. "You're doing great Rose, keep still, nearly there..." He manages to extract the bullet.

"Pressure." He orders, dropping it into the metal tray as a marine moves in to put pressure on the wound. Carson busies himself with bringing out a wad of bandages.

"You're doing great, Rose."

As soon as the bullet is out, she relaxes a bit, breathing heavily, eyes more focused as they snap up to him. The pressure hurts, but not as much as it did when there was still a bullet lodged in. "Bloody right I'm doing great, that was a- that was a bullet, how did you manage--"

She eyes the tray containing the hunk of metal, then moves to eye him. He was in the zone. It was... fascinating. Or it would be, if she wasn't bleeding on the forest floor. "You're brilliant, you are. That... ow, blimey, not so hard, I-- I'm getting a bit woozy."

Probably the blood loss.

"It needs to be hard." Carson comments (lol), handing the wad of bandages to the marine. "Get the stretcher." He comments, before tapping his radio.

"Someone get the gate dialled back to Atlantis. We have wounded incoming."

He looks down at Rose and smiles. "Still glad you came with us, aye?"

"I've got a name," She says absently. Wounded incoming, indeed. Which is really just because she's a bit dizzy and maybe a bit out of it. It's the adrenaline wearing off, the shock taking in. The blood loss is slowed thanks to Carson's effort, but she's still down quite a bit.

And then he's there and smiling, and she grins back despite the pain. "Aye," she agrees, doing a soft imitation of his Scottish lilt. "'Course I am."

"Okay, well lets get you home, aye?" He doesn't really care that she's mimicking him. The stretcher comes and the marines lift her onto it.

Carson walks beside her, still keeping pressure on the wound. "Hang tight, we'll get you home in a jiffy."

"Okay," She nods, laying still on the stretcher, shifting uncomfortably beneath his hands as he puts pressure on the wound. She settles after a moment, though. She's so tired. Her eyes flutter, then close. Just so sleepy.
