My mother was a career registered nurse. My father was a career Marine. They met on Okinawa when Mom was in the Army. They shared a no-nonsense practicality and lack of reverence for every day matters, including injury and illness. Manners were strictly enforced. I always love it when I hear of others who use any of the Dadisms. Just out of curiousity, was your Dad born in the 30s? I understand that some Dadism allusions are generational.

Born in 1928 I think which puts him right in that generation.
