Nevertheless, everyone needs to go pick up the debut album by American/German Death Metallers, DEATHEVOKATION. It's called Chalice of Ages and is simply one of the best OG Death Metal albums I've heard in years.

So how was this year for everyone in terms of metal goodness? I enjoyed some great releases from Amon Amarth, To-Mera, The Sword, Axamenta and Suffocation. I also found some truly amazing shit this year I'd never heard before, like Windir, Vader, Ghoul, Asmegin, Moonsorrow, Metal Church, and Destroyer 666.
