Wow. It's been over a year since I made my last public(ish) post to LJ. I thought I'd made a few more but apparently not. That said, I'm still over here on a regular basis to see what everyone's up to. I really miss fandom being on LJ; as everyone knows, Tumblr is good for limited interactions but not for long discussions ( Read more... ) -

One day I will work out what exactly is causing LJ to not display properly (so many broken themes) and not allow me to comment when I view it through Firefox or Chrome. IE is my last resort browser - I shouldn't have to use it so I can read things like ONTD or the comments on half of my f-list.

I don't know what's happening with LJ these days. They must have a ton of hidden scripts affecting how the site loads - or should I say partially loads before I get tired of looking at the spinning wheel and stop the page. Some LJ layouts are so badly borked that I can no longer read them off my f-list, and there's a number of LJs which I can't ( Read more... ) -

Ugh, I need to learn how to do simple plumbing jobs myself. I had to have the shower head & taps replaced which cost me half of my savings. I don't mind paying for a qualified tradie to do the work for me, but there are times when I know I could do the same job myself even though it would take twice as long. -
Well, look at that.
I've had all sorts of problems with LJ for ages - I've been unable to post or comment (most of the time). I still read my friendslist, but it's nowhere near as active any more :-/ Here's hoping this is the first of many LJ posts this year! -

Well, that was interesting.
Based on most of the comments I've seen so far, I liked the episode more than most people. I wish though, this had been aired as the mid-season break episode. ( Episode discussion & possible spoilers ahead. ) -

Steve Jobs reaction to the io6 maps app. If he was still alive, there's no way this app would have seen the light of day. The maps are a horrendous mess; incomplete, outdated locations, outdated names, places moved to other countries, famous landmarks or buildings not recognised, the list of faults goes on... Olympics
I love the Olympics. Love the opening ceremonies. I am disappointed that I woke up too late (6:30am) to see any before the athletes started their parade :( But of what I did see, that would have to be the most spectacular lighting of the flame I've watched.
